- Reduces packaging costs by 40% and doubles storage efficiency—an innovative logistics solution advancing ESG goals

Korea Pallet Network (KPN), a subsidiary of the LOGISALL Group, has officially launched the "CFMCT," a dedicated steel pallet designed for the transport, storage, and handling of glass fiber products. Since last month, the product has been in full operation under KPN’s pooling system, marking a significant step forward in sustainable logistics infrastructure.

The CFMCT pallet was developed in response to growing customer demand for cost-effective and storage-efficient packaging solutions in handling roll-type glass fiber products. Beginning its development in August 2024, KPN conducted on-site testing with clients and end users to optimize the design for real-world application.

Traditionally, glass fiber rolls were packaged using wooden pallets combined with multiple wooden protective frames, allowing for storage of only eight rolls in a single layer. At the receiving site, these packages had to be disassembled and discarded using electric saws—an inefficient and labor-intensive process that raised frequent concerns over safety and resource waste.

In contrast, KPN’s newly introduced steel pallet features a foldable structure that allows single-person assembly. It holds four rolls per unit and supports multi-tier storage—up to four tiers during storage and two tiers during shipping. This configuration effectively doubles storage capacity and reduces packaging costs by more than 40%. Furthermore, it cuts manpower and working time in half, and completely removes the need for electric saws, thereby significantly enhancing worker safety.

The CFMCT operates within KPN’s resource-circulating pooling system, wherein the pallets are collected, cleaned, and re-supplied. In place of traditional disposable packaging materials, the system incorporates reusable plastic (danpla) pads, eliminating the need for single-use wooden frames and cardboard layers. This makes the system not only economically efficient but also environmentally responsible—supporting waste reduction and resource conservation in line with ESG principles.

A KPN representative noted, “The CFMCT pallet has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from both clients and end users, and interest from overseas, including our client’s Italian branch, continues to grow with sample supplies already in progress.” They added, “KPN will continue to drive innovations that enhance packaging and logistics efficiency, while advancing the infrastructure for a circular logistics model that actively supports ESG-driven business practices.”
