– Korea’s logistics standardization strategy and LOGISALL’s unit load solutions draw global attention

LOGISALL Group participated in the 11th International Physical Internet Conference (IPIC 2025), held on June 19 in Hong Kong, where it officially introduced Korea’s Physical Internet initiative, LAPI (Logistics Alliance for Physical Internet), along with the company’s representative unit load solutions.

The event brought together leading global institutions such as the Physical Internet Center (PIC, USA), ALICE (EU), JPIC (Japan), and LAPI (Korea), and was hosted by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This year’s IPIC focused on building sustainable global supply chains, with particular interest in Korea’s logistics strategies and private-sector-driven innovation cases.

In a keynote address, Seo Dochan, CEO of LOGISALL Engineering, introduced Korea’s Physical Internet model, LAPI, and unveiled LOGISALL’s unit load-based solutions—FoldCon, RRPP, and RRCC—as practical implementations of the concept.

FoldCon, a foldable maritime container, can be collapsed to one-fourth its size for return transport, significantly reducing space requirements and return logistics costs. RRPP, a reusable plastic pallet made from recycled materials, reduces carbon emissions by approximately 73% and supports RFID-based traceability for global distribution networks. RRCC, a collapsible, reusable container designed to replace disposable cardboard boxes, is compatible with automated systems and optimized for urban last-mile logistics.

“LOGISALL may be an early mover in the Physical Internet space,” said Seo Dochan, “but we aim to present realistic and verifiable solutions to enable true supply chain transformation. We also plan to launch joint international projects in cooperation with European and American stakeholders.”

In another keynote, Dr. Kim Jongkyung of KCL (Korea Conformity Laboratories), one of Korea’s top logistics standardization experts, presented Korea’s national logistics standardization roadmap. The roadmap focuses on interoperability, digital transformation, sustainability, urban logistics, and social responsibility. It includes efforts in ISO 315 (smart packaging), cold chain technology, eco-friendly packaging materials, micro-fulfillment, unmanned storage, and last-mile delivery systems.

Dr. Kim also emphasized the need for legal and institutional frameworks to enable data sharing and interoperability. He noted that international standardization efforts around unmanned lockers, autonomous stores, and unmanned delivery technologies are accelerating under ISO TC344, and Korea is advancing projects involving smart lockers linked to self-checkouts and robot logistics services.

LOGISALL’s participation in IPIC 2025 not only elevated Korea’s status in the global logistics arena but also reinforced the company’s position as a leader in global supply chain innovation. With a focus on standardized modular logistics, the company plans to expand its pooling business for pallets and containers across Asia, the United States, and Europe through subsidiaries like KPP and KCP.
